There is Snow on Snoqualmie Pass!

You might have to work to find it, but it's there. We took two ski-tours this weekend: one up the Alpental Valley, the other up Hyak. Snow was thin most places, but hidden pockets of powder made for a nice 6-8 turns here and there.

Adam came over on Saturday to join us on the tour up the Alpental Valley. The route was more challenging than usual, with gullies and logs exposed that would normally be filled in this time of year. We toured up under Chair Peak, then Trev and Adam headed higher to search for turns, and I hung out and played in the snow. Some of the descent to Source Lake was good, though the light was pretty flat by then.

On Monday Trevor and I toured at Hyak. We got a nice view of Mt. Catherine in the sun and a few nice turns before descending to deal with the rocks and stubble at the bottom.
